Entrance into the Heart, 2020

The invitation to participate as artist-in-residence in the Lugu Lake-project „Return to Simplicity and Truth“ brought me into contact with the Mosuo culture in Yunnan, China. What is simplicity? Isn’t it artificial? And what is truth? Do we really feel truth in us? Is it the art that is real?

My nine works echo to these questions, variations in four colors over a basic geometric shape. The colors are symbolic of our connections to the cosmos. The forms are gates that enable a connection to the truth: the gate as an entrance into the heart.
