I see a pure form, 1–50, 1996

Gouache and pencil on primed cotton,
40 x 40 cm to 50 x 50 cm

The fifty «pure» forms, initially perhaps just color and surface, are based on their outlines, so-called cycloids, cyclical curves or rolling curves. They are comparable to the orbits of celestial bodies that orbit another star and thereby turn around themselves. The shapes appear familiar as many ornaments are also based on cycloids. The series of works was created in Dharamsala, India.
